OEM Controls was featured in the Connecticut Post and Shelton Herald newspapers. U.S. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut spoke at a manufacturing roundtable discussion at OEM Controls. He discussed the need for training and education in Connecticut, and also the cost of doing business in Connecticut. The Senator is adamant about the fact that "What we've been about, and still are about, are the things we make".
As a family owned and run company with HQ, design and production in CT for nearly 50 so years, OEM Controlsis providing employment and security for more than 200 people and their families. Our electro hydraulic controllers require a full production staff and in-house team. We recognize the need and require our government to find ways to attract other businesses to our state. While at first that may be counter productive for finding skilled labor, if we have more manufacturing in CT then we can attract and retain the skills of the hard working people in CT.
We are also a proud sponsor of the local high school robotics teams (Shelton & Masuk) in an effort to promote engineering and design at a young age. We also support our community colleges and their new manufacturing technology programs. With these efforts, we are helping to create a stronger work force not only for assembly, but for innovation and engineering as well.
