On August 10th, we hosted our Annual Company Picnic which is a tradition we have been celebrating for over 30 years. Employees enjoyed games, a pizza truck, drinks, dancing, as well as a huge water balloon fight! Each year our picnic features a raffle in which the employees can buy tickets to win awesome prizes. The proceeds raised are matched by OEM Controls and donated to a charity of the company’s choice. This year we raised $2,488 and donated it to Smilow Cancer Hospital.
The Smilow Cancer Hospital isn’t just a cancer center; it’s one of the best in Connecticut. Not only do they treat more cancer patients than any other cancer hospital in the state, they also focus on customized treatments for each patient and their family. Furthermore, they are dedicated to cancer research and prevention.OEM donates to different cancer centers and societies each year in hopes to make a difference in the care of cancer patients and to participate in the search for a cure. Because let’s face it, just about everyone has been touched by cancer, whether it’s a family member or friend. We recognize and have experienced the severity of this illness and we are honored to support this cause.
Our community is very important to us here at OEM Controls so each year we raise money in different ways to donate. So far this year we have donated $29,388.00 to numerous charities, local schools, and organizations.
