Sam Simons and the team at OEM Data Delivery are deeply saddened to share the news that Deborah Powell Simons has passed away. She died peacefully on June 11 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Connecticut, surrounded by her devoted family and dear friends. Deb was Sam’s wife and closest friend and the loving mother of their four young children.
Deborah received her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University, as well as advanced degrees in Substance Abuse and School Counseling. Deb was devoted to her “kids”, working for the Town of Monroe, serving as a counselor at Masuk High School and the Real & Alternative Program.
Fondly known to many as “Rescue Deb,” she loved all animals and happily took many in to care for them and eventually find them good homes. Deb loved the ocean, boating and sailing. Most important to Deb was her joy in being a loving wife and devoted mother. She loved her children and husband with all her heart and was a proud supporter of her children in all their sports and activities.
Sam appreciates the support, love and sympathy his family, friends, team members, and associates are showing him during this difficult time. He says, “I am grateful to you all. At a time like this, having my wonderful family and friends, as well as the excitement and promise of continuing to build OEM Data Delivery, is a true blessing. Deb’s legacy will live on through everyone who knew and loved her, and I thank you for that, too.”
