Functional Safety Design Training Completed

On June 27, 2014, OEM Controlssuccessfully completed Functional Safety Design Training to EN ISO 13849 & IEC 62061, with reference to IEC 61508. The participants learned the defined requirements for design, including proof of functional safety of machines with respect to these standards and guidelines. This training covered how safety devices and safety components are assembled and applied to reduce hazards from machinery, as well as design and analysis principles as applied to safety related parts of control systems. In addition to the technical requirements of the specifications, information about organizational measures as well as quality assurance and documentation for the life-cycle design and validation were covered. Fourteen engineers received training for a full week, which was provided by TÜVRheinland of North America Inc., 1300 Massachusetts Ave. , Boxborough MA 01719 www.tuv.com. At the end of the training course, four key design engineering personnel were tested and received the internationally recognized Functional Safety Engineer Certificate provided by TÜV Rheinland. By having engineers trained in safety on our staff we can assure that all OEM products including valve driver modules, joysticks, multi grip handles, CAN bus foot pedals, and more are designed to meet requirements and are handled with the best care. This allows for timely production of products, efficiency and accuracy, as well as ensures the safety of our entire staff.

Please join me in congratulating all of the participants.  This training is vital to the continued growth of OEM Controls, Inc.
